Susan Toohey, MEd, LPC, NCC, DCC, CHT is a licensed professional counselor offering services to residents of Pennsylvania and Arizona. She has considerable interest in working with individuals experiencing trauma, grief, depression, anxiety and disordered eating. In her practice she has provided effective evidenced-based therapeutic methods to her clients that included mindfulness meditation, EMDR, CBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, talk therapy and solution-focused counseling to treat individuals. Susan believes in customizing modalities based on the individual needs of each client and incorporates a holistic approach to her counseling, focusing on mind, body and spirit. She believes that therapy is an investment of your time and energy and a commitment that should be taken seriously and carefully.

Susan was previously a financial executive, a German and history high school teacher in the Washington, DC metro area and an adjunct professor at Lehigh University. Additionally, she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to teach in Hamburg, Germany. Her teaching experiences have enriched her ability to connect with many people and she appreciates working with diverse populations of individuals. Susan took those interests and brought them into clinical practice within cancer centers, family residency programs, a private practice, agency counseling and a residential treatment center for co-occurring disorders and addictions.
