Monique Gary is a licensed clinical social worker offering services to individuals ages 16 and older who are residing in California (she does NOT prescribe medication). She specializes in working with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), effective communication and stress management, although she does not work with axis II disorders. Monique’s philosophy of care involves helping people overcome emotional roadblocks and the fear of acknowledging what they already know by offering gentle, but direct guidance so that they can soar through life by being their authentic selves.
For as long as she can remember, Monique has been involved in helping people grow mentally and emotionally. After deciding to make a career out of something she was naturally doing, she started to attend the University of Southern California where she received a Masters of Social Work, Community Organization, Planning, and Administration. Since then she has received basic training in eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR) and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT). As a clinician, she most enjoys seeing the people she works with grow emotionally and noticing the differences in them from when they started with her to the present.
In her personal life, Monique loves to travel and goes abroad at least twice per year – so far, her favorite place is Bali. She also loves sushi and Soul Cycle. She likes to live optimistically without losing sight of reality and values loyalty. Her favorite quote is by Dr. Angela Davis: “I am no longer accepting the things I can not change. I am changing the things I can not accept.”

Clients canceling appointments with less than 24 hours’ notice, will be billed $120 for an initial assessment and $50 for follow-ups, as a No Show Fee.
