Dr. Jaimini Chauhan is a board certified psychiatrist offering her services to residents of New York and California. She works with people who have a broad range of mental illnesses, but specializes in working with geriatrics and/or people who struggle with schizophrenia, and psychotic disorders. Dr. Chauhan’s philosophy when caring for her patients is to first attempt non-pharmacological treatments, only offering prescriptions for benzodiazepines or other controlled substances only under special circumstances.

Dr. Chauhan was born and raised in Canada and can speak two different languages (English, French). She is a wife and mother and often enjoys outdoor activities and fitness, especially playing tennis and mountain biking. Dr. Chauhan became interested in behavioral health care in medical school during her clinical rotations. As a professional, she has most enjoyed meeting new people and helping them understand their mental illness.

“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising each time we fall.” - Confucius
