Prescribes Medication: No

Age Range: Children and Adults

Martha Chapa-Padilla, LMFT is a board certified marriage and family counselor, fluent in both English and Spanish offering counseling to children and adult residents of California. She has considerable experience providing effective mental health services within educational and health systems and is currently certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Some of her clinical interests include: mood disorders, anxiety disorders, child and adolescent issues and relationship issues. During each session, Martha believes in both treating each patient with respect and dignity and helping them reach more functional, productive, and happier lives.

Martha’s exposure to the topic of mental and behavioral health began with her mother, whom struggled with mental health issues for most of her life. After taking an introductory Psychology course she found that this topic she had loved was able to give her a better understanding of her mother’s experiences. This connection gave her the inspiration to educate and support others, which she has done both as a therapist for youth and adults and as a university faculty member.

Along with her professional interests, Martha is also a very big fan of the Investigative Discovery Channel; however, she always makes time to watch her favorite team: the San Francisco Giants.
