Sherika Jackson received her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Healthcare Management from Winthrop University in 2008 and her Masters in Social Work from Winthrop University in 2011. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and currently employed by Alternative Living Solutions, Inc. as the Lead Clinical Therapist where she supervises a team of therapists and practices outpatient therapy. Her specialties are children and adults with emotional/behavioral issues (such as ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, etc.), LGBT youth, adults diagnosed with HIV, and working with undeserved/oppressed populations. Ms. Jackson is also a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate with plans on specializing in alcohol and marijuana addiction once she receives her full license.
Ms. Jackson obtained her clinical license in 2014 and practiced initially as a provisional licensee. She began her mental health career at York Place Episcopal Children’s Home in 2006 where she held the position of Residential Counselor. She has held many positions at other agencies thereafter, including Intake Coordinator, Intensive In-Home Team Lead, and Therapeutic Counselor/Case Manager. She has been employed with Alternative Living Solutions since February 2013 and aspires to open up her own private practice within the next five years. She also has aspirations of starting a few non-profits in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area as well.
