Experience
Agnes Wohl is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (graduated in 1981), who has been in private practice on Long Island, New York for over 30 years.  In addition to her Master's Degree in Social Work, she has advanced training through the New Hope Guild in Child Analytic Psychotherapy (graduated in 1988), and an Advanced Certificate in School Psychology (graduated in 1984).   As an  accomplished practitioner in the field, Agnes Wohl has published two books and is a featured writer in a third book.  She has trained many other therapists in the field through direct supervision and formal conferences. In addition, Ms Wohl is Licensed Clinical Social Worker, belongs to the Academy of Certified Social Workers and is a Diplomate of Clinical Social Workers. She is also a member of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and the New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault.   Ms. Wohl provides individual and group therapy for support, growth and recovery.   She is well versed in DBT informed therapy, a Level Two EMDR therapist, as well as proficient in cognitive behavioral techniques.  Her clients learn effective coping strategies, regain a sense of self and self within the world.  They improve their self esteem, interpersonal effectiveness, and ability to handle overwhelming emotions.  She balances her years of skill in a caring, warm, nurturing environment.
